United Nations Latin American Meeting - Guerrini Design Island

United Nations Latin American Meeting

The symbol designed to represent the meeting embodies the sense of freedom, elevation and potentiality which expresses the articulation of the Latin American countries, in the image of a bird. “Pájaro” (“bird”) means “premonition” and “message” in Greek, traditionally representing immortality and the soul.

Furthermore, the bird and the sun are the typical referents of the expression of the native cultures of all the Americas, these being unique in the world. Thus, images of quetzals or buzzards, figures of the Nazca, condors and suries are always present in the paintings on vases, cave paintings and weavings of Latin American.

Finally, the flags, present in the form of feathers, are the representation of the national identity.
